I know I haven't updated my blog in soooo long. My bad. I've come to realize that I'm just a really bad blogger. I'll have to work on that: it's on my to-do list. Yeeeeah......

Anway, the good news is that I just had to share these. I had the pleasure of working with little miss H. recently and what a doll she was! Such a sweet little thing and very tolerant of all my shenanigans! lol... Of course she got a little fussy for about a second during our session but I pulled out the secret weapon: Daddy reinforcements! Why is it that Daddies are just the funniest people on the planet? Works every time! lol...

I love newborns. They're so small and squishy and adorable. Every time I photograph one it just reminds me how fast everything goes and how fleeting a time this is. My girls aren't newborns anymore, but it sure seems like just yesterday that they were. Check out little miss G. Isn't she just beautiful?

3 month old triplets. Have you ever seen anything sooo adorable?! These babies were so tiny I could hardly believe they're 3 months old. I was surprised at how much patience they had with me. Their Mommy and Daddy are some very nice, very blessed people.

Seriously... is this girl *gorgeous* or what? I've worked with her mom and little sis in the past, but this is the first time I've had the chance to photograph her, and it was so much fun. She has the most amazing, soulful eyes. She was so much fun and such a trooper for her photo shoot, even though I know she was freezing. Gotta love this October weather we're getting already!

I'm sorry I've been neglecting my blog. It's just one of those things I never get around to updating. I shall try to make a more diligent effort to be a good blogger. Shame on me. (insert wrist slap here). So I guess you've all been wondering what I've been up to. I've had some shoots with some wonderful clients and have been remiss in posting sneak peeks. Here are a couple of the cuties I've been working with lately!

I think the best part of my job is watching little ones grow up. I'm always amazed at how fast they grow and it's such fun watching them become little people and then bigger people.... I just love it.

This is little miss I. I did her newborn photos and just got the opportunity to do her one year portraits. What a little beauty! Isn't she gorgeous? She's such a good natured little one and had nothing but smiles the whole time we were shooting. Not a single meltdown - I was impressed! I just big puffy heart her. :-)

Their poor, poor mother. I'm sure the calls will start early - the giggling on the other end of the line asking if they're home. These boys are going to be SUCH heartbreakers! They're just so adorable and sweet to boot! Every time I see them they get more and more handsome, and it's so much fun to watch them together. Little R. just adores his big brother and it's so cute to watch him follow him around and do everything he does. I swear he thinks his big bro hung the moon and stars. I just *love* that. :-)

You probably can't tell from this crappy blog sized copy, but talk about some amazing eyes this kiddo has!!! I had to resist cropping this to just a close up of the eyes - they're seriously stunning!

Little Mr. C! You may remember him from his newborn portraits ! He's grown so much and is now an adorable, happy little 6 month old. This shoot was so fun as I just adore this little guy. We went to Heritage Park for some great fall colors. Of course, it was 80 degrees outside - not exactly the weather you'd expect for fall photos, but little C was such a trooper. He tolerated me much better this time than last time and even smiled!

I'm still proofing these and I already have so many that I love. I've literally laughed out loud opening some of them and let out quite a few audible "awwwwww"s. :-) I just love his little facial expressions!

The wandering senior

This is my nephew Kyle - isn't he cute? :-)

I finally pinned him down for some senior photos and it was a blast! We had so much fun just wandering around town looking for fun places to shoot. Then of course we did some shots in studio too. I can't believe he's a senior already. I totally remember when he was just Emily's age and he was such an adorable little ham wearing just a diaper. *sigh* Where does the time go? I love these photos and I'm so proud of the man he's becoming, but I have to admit it makes me a little sad to see that "little Kyle" is all gone.

Let's face it some kids are just a natural in front of the camera! Little dude was SO easy to work with I could hardly believe it. It's so different than someone like, say..... Emily! Not once did he scream and run in the other direction - I could hardly believe it. He was just so full of natural laughter and smiles.

His baby sister was the same way, but she was having so much fun making me chase her around. She's quite a good crawler! lol... This session was sooo much fun and I really love the images I got.

Boy did I have a fun session - meet little miss H. and little Mr. M.

These kids were SO adorable and so nice - just a pleasure to work with. Little H. was such a polite little thing and she just *adores* Little M. :-) It's so sweet. I had a great time working with them. We did some baking shots which are always fun - complete with chef's hat and apron! It was a blast.

Of course, the best part of baking is taste testing, right? lol...

Check out this little man - isn't he adorable? I love his little mop top - he's like a miniature Beatle or Jonas Brother or something. He's going to be such a heartbreaker when he's older!! I had the pleasure of photographing him this week at Quarton Lake (one of my all time favorite locations!). Four year old boys are such..... boys! lol.. Little Mr. R. was very sweet and such a Daddy's boy. It was so cute the way he obviously just *adores* his Daddy.

Maternity leave was fun, but now it's back to work! I had my first post-maternity-leave photo shoot yesterday and it was so fun! I really missed shooting people other than Emily and Amanda! And yesterday I got to work with a senior! Seniors are a totally different experience - they do what you tell them to, they don't cry/scream/run from you, and all this without even being bribed with treats or bubbles! lol....

Lucky me - another newborn!! :-) I LOVE newborns. I think they're the most divine thing in the world. I can't wait to have my own to torture with the camera! bwahahaha....

There are so many that I love from this session. She was such a good baby I couldn't believe it. She barely fussed at all and although we had to do things on her terms (don't you always!) she certainly held up her end of the bargain with some wonderful cooperation.

I know I haven't posted in a while, it's just been pretty hectic around here. Only a couple more weeks until I start maternity leave and I'm really beginning to look forward to it. This pregnancy is pretty much kicking my butt way more than my first did.
Anyway, I have a couple to share from my latest senior. We went back to Quarton Lake - I love shooting there. Seniors are so much fun! We got a ton of great shots and I just can't pick a favorite so here's some image overload for you all.

Guess what I found - a (somewhat) willing photography victim! Bwahahaha.... I was playing in the studio the other day and Bailey wandered down so I thought I'd get a couple of pics of him. He has first child syndrome. You know where you have tons and tons of pics of the first child, and then.. just...not so much? Yeeeah..... that's Bailey. We used to have a TON of pics of him until Emily came along. I even brought a Bailey photo album to the hospital with me to use for my focal point when I was in labor with Emily. It's funny how things change when you have a human baby. He's still my boy though.

Isn't he ADORABLE!? This is little T. and he's a repeat client. Talk about one well-behaved two year old! He's like a little model; just so easy to photograph. I really think I need to get him to spend some time with Emily as he's got to be a good influence! lol... Like Emily, he's expecting a new baby sister soon - how exciting! I can't wait to meet her too.

This session was so short, but I got so many shots that I love.... I just couldn't narrow it down to 1 or 2.

Welcome to little Mr. C - two weeks new and just as cute as a button. He had no interest in sleeping regardless of what we tried. His Mommy and Daddy were so great with him and SO tired! It brought back so many memories for me of exactly what Emily was like at this age. There are so many little details about life with a newborn that I had just forgotten. I can't believe I'm going to do this again, and this time with a toddler! lol... It's such a precious time though and it goes so fast.

Little C. was NOT a big fan of that big black thing that kept pointing at his face and flashing! lol... This pretty much sums up his opinion of me:

It's so funny to me how at only 2 years old they can be so boyish! lol.. He was not a happy camper until we gave him a football - then he didn't want to let it go! So cute!!

This is little miss M. I just adore her. Really.

This was our second shoot together and it was so much fun to see how she's grown. She's just the most adorable little girl ever and so sweet. It's so interesting to me to see the photos of her after the shoot because it seems like when looking back on them I always discover something I didn't see at the time I was shooting - there's just this soulful look in her eyes that says she's so much wiser than her age. She has a special kind of beauty that just photographs so well - just timeless. Of course, it probably stems somehow from the fact that her Mommy is drop dead gorgeous too! lol... That never hurts, right? :-)

(This photo just screams "CANVAS" to me! lol... I might have to order a sample canvas of it just for myself. I just love it!)

Meet little miss Y. I shot her Mommy's maternity session and just couldn't wait to meet this little one! She finally arrived and was worth every minute of the wait! Such a sweet, good-natured little baby. And of course her Mommy and Daddy are just so obviously head-over-heels in love with her. It was so fun working with them again. This is the second time I've photographed her and I could hardly believe how quickly she's growing! Like a weed! She's even cuter than the last time I saw her (if that's possible!) and she's such a sweetheart! She was such a good sport for the whole session but near the end I could tell that she was secretly wishing I would get that camera out of her face! She started fussing a little bit right at the VERY end of the session. Then once I put the camera away she started playing with me again. It was so funny!

I had the funnest (yeah I know... I'm MAKING it a word) maternity session over the weekend! I can NOT believe how gorgeous this woman is. You know the type - the ones who make pregnancy look like it's so easy! lol.... I can't wait to meet this little baby and take some newborn portraits too. I was hoping I would have these done by now, but I've had some interruptions and am still working on them. But here are a couple of previews to tide you over.

On a personal note, I just want to say that we closed on the new house yesterday! WOO HOO! It's official! Little Moments Photography will now be based out of Highland Michigan. Not to worry - I'm expanding my travel policy to include all my fantastic local clients that I've fallen so in love with! :-) It's really not that much farther anyway.

I'm very excited about the new house and get wait to get in and get settled! Emily is so excited about the idea of a new room and she really wants it to be pink - something I've avoided until now. But.... pink it is. She's going to love it - if I can get her off the stairs long enough! We're in a ranch right now so stairs are a whole new playground for her, lol.

I'm still working on last weekend's maternity session and will post a sneak peek soon. It was a really fun session and I can't wait to show some images.

I'm sorry I have been so out of touch with the blog world lately. December kind of flew by for me in a blur! Between the busy holiday sessions, the holidays themselves, being pregnant and house shopping.... I had a little trouble keeping in touch like I should. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is enjoying the first part of 2008!

I'm so excited for this year and all the changes it will be bringing for me both personally and professionally. We have purchased a new home in Highland township and will be moving sometime around the end of January. I'm very excited but it has been one hectic experience - and we haven't even moved yet! Just house shopping alone is enough to make you want to throw in the towel! lol... I will be happy to get everything in and settled before the baby arrives in July. Wish me luck!

I would also like to take a moment to say "thank you" to all the wonderful clients I had in 2007, either for the first time or as repeat clients. I truly have some of the best clients with the cutest kids! 2007 was so much fun and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again in 2008!

Although I'm a few days late for the New Year, I wanted to post my top 10 favorite client images from 2007. I got this idea from a fellow photographer and thought it was such a fun way to close out the year. It was SOO hard to narrow it down to 10! These all speak to me in different ways for different reasons and I just love them all.

Decisions, Decisions....

Newborn sessions. *sigh* They're just so hard.

It's not the actual shoot that's hard, but deciding which photo I like the best, lol. They're all so cute and squishy and new and sweet. I just love newborns. It's interesting how someone who can't even move much can be so fun to photograph. :-)

I'm almost done proofing and I tried to narrow it down to one or two, but couldn't. I barely narrowed it down to 3 so that's what I'm showing. Some photos just scream "CANVAS!!!" to me, and there are quite a few from this shoot that do that. Again... I get that a lot with newborn shoots though, lol.

This little bonnet was an heirloom from when her Mommy was a baby. Isn't that awesome!! It's like photographing history. I love that! I like to think that these images will have special meaning long after I'm dead and gone. Now that's an amazing job!!

That's right!
I got to photograph a sweet, beautiful, squishy little newborn baby girl! :-) She was SOOO awesome and even sweeter than that (8 lbs of) Halloween candy I've eaten so far! lol....

This is little miss L. and she was only one week old. She was born 3 days before my birthday! Isn't that nice??

I'm sorry I haven't posted a sneak peek sooner. I'm still working on them, but I just love this session already as these are the first images I opened:

I've been meaning to post a sneak peek of these as I was proofing them. They're almost done now, so sorry for the delay M., but better late than never, right? :-)

This was a really fun session. I just love shooting seniors. It's really just a totally different experience than kids and it's so interesting. And it is just me or does this girl look kinda like the girl from the O.C. - Misha whats-her-face. Don't you think?

Devil's Night

Well, it's Devil's Night again. Nothing much usually happens so I'm not terribly concerned about it, but I will say this..... this is the only time of the year that I keep a VERY close eye on my kitty cat. I've heard some nasty stories about people stealing black cats around this time of year, so I like to keep him close by.

So in honor of Halloween I thought I'd post a pic of my black cat - Rasta. He's so cool. It just occured to me though, that I don't have many pictures of him. I don't know why.

The great thing about Rasta is he pretty much looks the same in a color OR b&w photo! hahahah.... LOL.... hehe..

ok, anyway...

Here's a photo I snappped of him last Halloween that I thought was cute. Nothing special - just a snapshot - but I thought I'd post it.

He's almost scary isn't he? Except for his middle-aged-kitty gut! lol...

Halloween contest update

So the deadline to submit Halloween contest photos was supposed to be today. However, I have decided to extend the deadline as it occured to me that most people don't actually take the photos until the day of Halloween(which makes sense).

So I have extended the deadline to Friday November 2nd. Please submit photos prior to that date!

These guys are SO cute. They're cousins and one of them is a repeat client. We had so much fun hanging out and playing. We went to Marshbank park and got some really great fall color shots. Of course their Moms acted like complete lunatics to get some shots! lol... I LOVE that! This was a really fun session. :-)

I really do! I get to spend time with the nicest people and the CUTEST kids! :-)

This is little miss J. and her baby sister E. I had so much fun working with them and the whole family was so nice. Little J. reminded me so much of Emily, so of course I just fell in love with her right away. We had the nicest tea party and she even made me some pretend hot cocoa with mini marshmallows! YUMMM!! :-)

I had the opportunity to shoot at this family's home this weekend on a lake. I just love lake houses. They had the most beautiful sunrise view and the two sweetest little boys! They kept sitting next to me and wanting to help. And they were my best friends when they found out I had bubbles! lol... so cute!

They certainly kept me on my toes but were so much fun! I really think we got some great images too! I'm still proofing but promised a sneak peek, so I just wanted to pop in and post a couple of them here. Somtimes it's so hard to narrow it down to just one or two to show though, so I may end up posting more later. :-) I have no self control! lol

I finished proofing and I just thought I'd share a couple more. These are taken at Quarton Lake (can I just say again how much fun I had there!) at sunset. Just yummy!

I love shooting at sunset. The light is sooooo beautiful, and this is my favorite time of year so it's a double bonus! :-)

I have found a new favorite location - Quarton Lake. It's small, but there's a ton of visual interest packed into a small area - which is both fun and convenient! :-)

Talk about a beautiful place for fall colors and sunset shooting. *sigh*
I definitely can't wait to shoot there again. Of course it helps that I was working with a very nice family so overall I had a really great time!

This is little baby C. Isn't he adorable? I had so much fun with this family; they were just such nice people and obviously so very in love with each other and their new baby. Just one of those households that has love bouncing off the walls - you can almost feel it when you walk in! Very nice people and such an adorable little fella. He was so good for our shoot too.

I drove out to the Lansing area for this shoot and discovered one thing - there is a LOT of corn between here and Lansing! lol.. It was sooo worth the drive though. I had a great time, and little C. had one of the coolest nurseries I've ever seen! VERY original! He has a super talented Aunt, I know that much!

Anyway, enough jabbering. I'm still proofing and *really* need to get my butt back to work so I can get these proofs to them, but I figured it wouldn't be fair to not even post a little sneak peek, so here ya go! :-)

Meet Little Miss M.
I arrived at her home for her session and as soon as her Mom opened the door holding her, I just fell in love! She's like a little doll baby! She was SO sweet and good natured, and talk about one cute baby!
Little M. just turned one so these are her (what I like to call) Birthday Princess pictures. :-) So adorable. I'm still working on proofing, and I know her Mom is just dying to see the pics so I have to post a sneak peek. Sorry for the delay!

Photographer's Playground

I had the pleasure last weekend of getting together with some amazing local portrait photographers. It's so fun to hang out with people who just "get" you. :-) We had so much fun comparing equipment (I WILL resist the 5D, I WILL resist the 5D!) and just talking about fun stuff. This was all held at a photographer's home who has a back yard that would be any photographer's playground! It was fantastic! We went out to play at sunset and it was fun because usually at this time of day the kids I'm photographing are already in bed. I felt so wild and crazy being outside at 8:00pm! lol...

It sure was fun!

I'm still proofing this session but wanted to share a few as I know Mom is dying to see them. I had some issues with this shoot, but overall I'm pretty pleased with the results.

So what do you get when you mix an Italian Dad with a Redhaired Mom? GORGEOUS kids! These boys were so cute! I couldn't believe their eyes. I hate to say it, but these boys are gonna be heartbreakers when they're older! Lock up your daughters! lol Of course, they're such sweet and well-mannered kids too, so that doesn't hurt.

My first senior!

I did my first senior shoot last weekend and it was so fun! Talk about different.... she didn't throw a single tantrum. No naps. No snacks. And she actually stayed where I put her! lol...

I think I really lucked out by finding a senior who's not only *gorgeous* but was also so much fun (as was her Mom!). She was a natural poser which made my job sooo much easier. The camera just loved her! I even got a new prop out of the deal (Yes!) Overall, I really really enjoyed doing this and am looking forward to shooting more seniors.

I have a crazy # of pictures to go through and am still proofing, but I just had to share a few while I'm working on them.

I'm almost done proofing this session and wanted to share one quick sneak peek. This was so much fun! We went to Kensington Metro Park and I haven't been there in sooo long! I used to go there all the time at the crack of dawn and take photos with my old Minolta film camera. Ahhhh.... back in the day, lol.

This weekend I went there with little Mr. C. and he was so much fun! I really had a great time at this shoot.

Sweet Lil Thang

Oh. My. Gosh.

I had the opportunity yesterday to photograph just the sweetest little thing.... I swear I left with a toothache! lol.. This is little Miss C. She's 6 months old and was so happy and friendly I couldn't believe it. I really love this age. It's such an age of discovery and babies change soooo much during this stage. Just the facial expressions alone make them entertaining! lol...

It really seems like forever since Emmy has been this small. *sigh* Where does the time go?

So, I took a *sick* amount of pictures (I just couldn't stop myself) and am working on proofing, but had to pop in to share a few. Yes... a few. I usually only show one or two for a sneak peek, but I already couldn't narrow it down, so you get 3! lol..

Puppy Love

Ok, I have finally finished proofing this session. Sorry for no sneak peeks but it's just been so crazy lately! I'm still playing catch up from last weeks sessions.

I just had to share this one... how sweet! I love this dog too; he was such a nice guy, lol. I had so much fun with this family.

These girls were soooo sweet together! Little L. is fortunate enough to have such a nice big sister who I could tell just absolutely adores her! It was SOO sweet!

"They" say "good things come to those who wait". You know.... the infamous "They". And They must be right, because check out this little gem! My friend (see the gorgeous maternity pic posted earlier!) had her baby!!!

This stubborn little man has finally decided to make his long-awaited debut appearance. His poor Mommy was so ready for him to come..... I thought she might just pop! lol... Now that he's here though, I think all can agree that he was well worth the wait! He's just perfectly perfect. This was such a fun newborn session - he was just as happy as a clam and didn't fuss a bit! I couldn't believe it.

Unfortunately, I don't think he was quite as impressed with me as I was with him. Do you think he's trying to tell me something? hahahaha....

Ok, so I know it's mean to just post one little outtake, and I know his Mommy is just dying to see more. But I'm still proofing so this is all you get for now! haha..

Pool fun!

It was my great pleasure to photograph this little man! He was such a sweet little guy; so shy and adorable! Just makes my heart melt. We got to do this session by the pool, which was really fun. It was so HOT though that I must confess I was tempted to drop the camera and jump in the pool myself! lol... We had a good time though and even though I'm still proofing, I already am having a hard time choosing my favorite. I managed to narrow it down to two.... so far. But I'm guessing you'll be seeing more of this little guy on my blog! :-)

Well, we're back. Back to reality. It was so great to get away for a few days though. We relaxed and ... well, TRIED to sleep in. How does your body just KNOW that you're supposed to be up at 6:30?!??! So frustrating! We had a great time though, but were very ready to get back home to Emmy. I have a ton of work to catch up on too, but it's worth it. Here are some pics!

Just sharing one today from a recent session. I'm still proofing it, but have to post at least one. This was another fun session at the park. It's so nice to be shooting outside again! This little girl was such a cutie pie, as was her little brother. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly out, but they were troopers anyway.

So I finally got to do my first outdoor shoot of the year and it was awesome! I'm so glad it's finally getting nice out and I'm really looking forward to doing more shoots outside! It's so fun and spontaneous!

I had the pleasure last weekend of photographing this adorable little girl. She's turning one this weekend!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

She was just the sweetest little thing and all smiles! She had so much fun with the balloons but of course she kept squeezing them! So funny!

We also did some family photos, which were a real pleasure. Such a nice family and so fun to work with!

I got a new lens! Yay! I love this thing.... it's so sharp and versitile. Just LOVE IT!

To me, this is what it's all about!

I finished proofing little Miss A's session and just have to share this one. Little Moments is more than just a catchy name - it's a philosophy. It is my goal to catch the little things about life that pass in the blink of an eye (as so many things do, especially with children). The moments of a child's wonder and discovery of something we take so for granted as we get older - like a belly button! :-) Imagine my delight when I got this shot. It was only for a second and I'm so glad I captured it. It just speaks volumes to me.
